1     AN ACT concerning education.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
5 2-3.142a as follows:

6     (105 ILCS 5/2-3.142a new)
7     Sec. 2-3.142a. Mental health services grants. Subject to
8 appropriation, the State Board of Education shall develop,
9 implement, and administer a program to award grants to school
10 districts for the purpose of collaborating with community
11 mental health providers to provide mental health services to
12 the students of a school district. The State Board shall adopt
13 any rules necessary to implement this Section.
