SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 3930/10.3 new

Amends the Illinois Criminal Justice Act. Provides that the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority shall collect data and information on race and ethnicity at every point within the criminal justice system to allow for a systematic assessment of disproportionate impact on minorities. Provides that the Authority shall report its findings to the General Assembly on an annual basis.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act is amended by adding Section 10.3 as follows:

(20 ILCS 3930/10.3 new)

Sec. 10.3. Data Collection; race and ethnicity in criminal justice system. The Authority shall collect data and information on race and ethnicity at every point within the criminal justice system to allow for a systematic assessment of disproportionate impact on minorities. The Authority shall report its findings to the General Assembly on an annual basis.
