SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Arthur T. "A.T." "Tom" Preder, Jr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas, who passed away on July 20, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Preder, Jr. was born in Evanston on April 3, 1943 to Arthur, Sr. and Martha (nee Knox) Preder; he married Constance "Connie" Sanstad in 1964; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Preder, Jr. joined the Waukegan Police Department as a patrolman in 1966; he retired from the Village of Lindenhurst Police Department as a Lieutenant in April of 1993 after serving a total of 27 years as a police officer; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Preder, Jr. and his wife moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in June of 1995; he was a member of the Mountain Home Moose Lodge 1953 and the Elks Club 1714; he enjoyed golfing with his best friend, Butch Weatherby and socializing with friends at Ole Chi Mill and other lodges; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Preder, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Preder, Jr. is survived by his wife of 50 years, Connie; his daughters, Dana Agostinelli and Kimberly Poole; his grandchildren, Joey and Briana Agostinelli; his dog, Emily (Emma); his sister, Marilyn Preder and her children; his sister-in-law, Pat Smith; and many other relatives; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Arthur T. "A.T." "Tom" Preder, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Arthur Preder, Jr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
