SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Peter Joseph Gallagher of Belvidere, who passed away on September 1, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Peter Gallagher was born on October 18, 1959 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; his parents were Edward and Elizabeth (nee Thiel) Gallagher; he married Sue Belles in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Peter Gallagher graduated from Wilkes University in 1981; and

WHEREAS, Peter Gallagher was a loyal employee of Kmart/Sears for nearly 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Peter Gallagher was an avid Notre Dame, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Boston Celtics fan; and

WHEREAS, Peter Gallagher was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ed Gallagher, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Peter Gallagher is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sue; 4 children, Edward G. and Peter L. Gallagher, Kathryn E. Gallagher, and Joseph Gallagher; a sister, Claire (Manny) Mendoza; his beloved friend, Lisa Dent, and her boys; several nephews; and his many dear friends and former colleagues at Kmart/Sears; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Peter Joseph Gallagher; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Peter Gallagher as an expression of our sympathy.
