SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Irene H. Coonan of Grapevine, Texas, who passed away on August 27, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Irene Coonan was born in Bondurant, Iowa; she lived in Joliet until 1976, when she and her husband relocated to Newport, Arkansas; they moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Irene Coonan worked in the wire manufacturing industry with the J.E. Messenger Co., Capital Wire Company; she retired from Precision Manufacturing in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Irene Coonan was a lifetime member of Ingalls Park United Methodist Church; she enjoyed raising and caring for pets, quilting, and spending hours tending to her rose garden; and

WHEREAS, Irene Coonan was preceded in death by her husband, James Coonan; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Coonan; her parents, John and Reka (nee VanIngen) Houbolt; Mary Jones, Neal Houbolt, and John Houbolt; and

WHEREAS, Irene Coonan is survived by her children, James Coonan, Sharon (Patrick) Asher, and Michael Coonan; her grandchildren, Jimmy (Julie) Coonan, Mark (Leah) Coonan, Amy (Chris) Byers, Jessica (Jorge) Luengas, and Aaron (Karin) Asher; her great-grandchildren, Alex (Emily), Amanda, Luke, and Jack Coonan, Sam Stortz, Joe, Maci, and Colin Byers, Asher and Grayson Luengas, and Samuel and Sydney Asher; her great-great grandchild, Allie Mae Coonan; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Irene H. Coonan, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Irene Coonan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
