SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary B. "Penny" Bazzell of Alton, who
4passed away on August 29, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Bazzell was born on July 5, 1949 in Alton;
6her parents were Leonard J. and Marie M. (nee Blessent) Gross;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Bazzell was employed with Norfolk-Southern
9Railways for 42 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mary Bazzell was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
11Church in Alton; she also volunteered and did charity work for
12Catholic Charities and Haskell House; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mary Bazzell enjoyed collecting art by local
14artists, gardening, reading, traveling to new places, great
15movies, and spending time with her family and friends; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Mary Bazzell is preceded in death by her parents;
173 siblings, Jacelynn Lennette, John Gross, and William J.
18Gross; a brother-in-law, Charles Bohn; and a daughter, Katie
19Bazzell; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Bazzell is survived by 3 siblings, Kay
2(Richard) Cary, James L. (Kay) Gross, and Barbara "Bunny" Bohn,
3and her many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Mary B. "Penny"
7Bazzell; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Mary Bazzell as an expression of our
10sympathy.
