SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bruce G. Dimler of Peoria, who passed away on August 26, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Dimler was born on May 24, 1944 to Dr. Robert J. and Elizabeth (nee Dregne) Dimler; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Dimler retired from Caterpillar after 35 years; during his retirement, he substitute taught for over 12 years and was known as "Mr. Sunshine" to all his students in Peoria; he served on the board of CEFCU for over 30 years, retiring this past February; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Dimler enjoyed golf, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends; he was a member of St. Philomena Parish; he also served on the board of Catholic Social Services for many years; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Dimler was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Dimler is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary (nee Hobin); his brothers, Paul and Steve (Nita); his 5 children, Dan (Kelly), Ed, Ellen, Pete (Brigid), and Maggie (Doug) Off; and his 10 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Dan, Maxie, Molly, Mark, Ryan, Alex, Tess, Maggie, and Ted; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bruce G. Dimler, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bruce Dimler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
