SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Floyd D. "Butch" Peterson, Jr. of Granite
4City, who passed away on August 4, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. was born on June 3, 1961 in
6Granite City; his parents were Floyd D. "Butch" Peterson, Sr.
7and Sandi (nee Smothers) Peterson; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. graduated from Southern
9Illinois University in Edwardsville; he subsequently attended
10law school and earned his law degree from St. Louis University;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. was a lawyer and had worked
13for various law firms in the metro area; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. served as an umpire and
15referee for basketball, baseball and football teams in his area
16for many years; he also enjoyed golfing and spending time with
17his family and friends; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. is survived by his parents;
19his loving children, Cari (Marc) Novaria, Brian Peterson, and
20Kimi Peterson; his siblings, Chris Olden and Brad (Rena)

1Peterson; an uncle, Jerry Smothers; his faithful companion,
2Isaac; and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members,
3and friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Floyd D. "Butch"
7Peterson, Jr.; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Floyd Peterson, Jr. as an expression
10of our sympathy.
