| | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | | 3 | | learn of the death of Floyd D. "Butch" Peterson, Jr. of Granite | | 4 | | City, who passed away on August 4, 2015; and
| | 5 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. was born on June 3, 1961 in | | 6 | | Granite City; his parents were Floyd D. "Butch" Peterson, Sr. | | 7 | | and Sandi (nee Smothers) Peterson; and
| | 8 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. graduated from Southern | | 9 | | Illinois University in Edwardsville; he subsequently attended | | 10 | | law school and earned his law degree from St. Louis University; | | 11 | | and
| | 12 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. was a lawyer and had worked | | 13 | | for various law firms in the metro area; and
| | 14 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. served as an umpire and | | 15 | | referee for basketball, baseball and football teams in his area | | 16 | | for many years; he also enjoyed golfing and spending time with | | 17 | | his family and friends; and
| | 18 | | WHEREAS, Floyd Peterson, Jr. is survived by his parents; | | 19 | | his loving children, Cari (Marc) Novaria, Brian Peterson, and | | 20 | | Kimi Peterson; his siblings, Chris Olden and Brad (Rena) |
