SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Jon Knox, formerly of Woodstock, who passed away on July 10, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Knox was born on January 30, 1947 to Florence and Gordon Knox; he graduated from Woodstock High School in 1965; after high school, he volunteered for the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War; he was honorably discharged in August of 1967; and

WHEREAS, After serving in Vietnam, Thomas Knox worked at Illinois Bell for 23 years before becoming a small business owner in Woodstock; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Knox retired to Naples, Florida; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Knox was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Knox is survived by his 5 children, Thomas (Jennifer) Knox, Jonathon (Jackie) Knox, Steven (Amy) Knox, Kristen (Jeffrey) Chiappetta, and Sarah (Nicolas) Gonzalez; his 3 brothers, Tim (Janet) Knox, Jim (Pam) Knox, and John Knox; his sister, Judy (John) Bloom; his 7 grandchildren, Thomas, Trent, Brennen, Emma, Sophia, Santino, and Micaela; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas Jon Knox, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Knox as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
