SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Recent multiple news articles have reported on the
3harvesting and sale of body parts from aborted babies by
4Planned Parenthood; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Trafficking in human body parts is a federal
6crime; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Trafficking in human body parts is a form of human
8trafficking; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Illinois has provided State taxpayer dollars and
10has acted as a conduit for federal taxpayer dollars for Planned
11Parenthood agencies in Illinois for many years, including most
12recently $2.54 million in Fiscal Year 2013, $2.28 million in
13Fiscal Year 2014, and $2.28 million in Fiscal Year 2015; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Illinois taxpayers, through their State
15government, are indirectly involved and are cooperating with
16Planned Parenthood in these particular immoral and potentially
17criminal acts; and
 
18    WHEREAS, State tax dollars enable Planned Parenthood to
19divert an equal amount of financial resources from other
20sources to fund their operations; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge Governor Bruce
3Rauner and the members of this body to end any and all State
4funding of Planned Parenthood immediately; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That we urge the proper State agencies,
6including, but not limited to the Illinois Department of Public
7Health and the Illinois State Police, to conduct a thorough
8investigation to determine if any Illinois taxpayer dollars are
9directly involved in the harvesting and selling of baby body
10parts by Planned Parenthood and associated agencies in
11Illinois; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
13delivered to the Governor, the Directors of the Illinois
14Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Police, and
15the members of the Illinois congressional delegation.
