SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Willie Lee Hunter, who passed away on July 5, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Willie Hunter was born on July 8, 1983 in Chicago; his parents were Angela Hunter and Willie Jackson; and

WHEREAS, Willie Hunter attended Mahalia Jackson Elementary School; he subsequently furthered his education by attaining a GED and a certificate in carpentry; and

WHEREAS, In April of 2014, Willie Hunter moved to Jefferson City, Missouri to better his life; after a week of being in Missouri, he obtained a job with Scholastic Inc. in the Operations Department; within one month of employment, he was promoted to manager of his department; he was well-respected by his co-workers and the company's executives alike; and

WHEREAS, Willie Hunter enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Willie Hunter was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Willie Hunter is survived by his beloved daughter, Mercedes Hardaway; his mother; a sister, Rosie Liggins; 2 nephews, Shawn Brown and Dontay Liggins; 5 nieces, Janice, Alexis, Raneice, and Kriscelle Liggins and Janyla Hunter; his many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends; and his special friend, Brittany West; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Willie Lee Hunter; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Willie Hunter as an expression of our sympathy.
