SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Virginia Weaver of Peoria, who passed away on June 3, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver was born in Eureka to Ora and Ella Garber; she graduated from Peoria High School and married Robert Weaver on June 3, 1945; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver worked at the Buehler Home retirement community in the accounting department; she was a founding partner of Weaver Enterprises; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver loved flowers, particularly planning, developing, and working in her perennial gardens; she and her husband were well known in the horse coaching and carriage world; she also enjoyed spending time with her family; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver served as a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer for many years; in her later years, she attended the First United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver and her husband were jointly honored as the Association of Fundraising Professionals Philanthropists of the Year; they were also Easter Seals Tribute Dinner honorees; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert; her parents; and her sister, Shirley Roth; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Weaver is survived by her children, Jerry (Nancy) Weaver, Phyllis (Don) Crouch, Steve (Shelley) Weaver, Karen (Bob Vespa) Weaver, and Charles (Laurie) Weaver; her 16 grandchildren; and her 19 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Virginia Weaver; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Virginia Weaver as an expression of our sympathy.
