SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gloria Krall Liewellyn of Joliet, who
4passed away on May 17, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gloria Liewellyn was born on June 23, 1924 to
6Joseph and Mary Annunzi (nee Bradeska); she graduated from St.
7Joseph Parish School in 1937 and St. Francis Academy in 1941;
8she was very proud of receiving a medal for 4 years of perfect
9attendance despite taking a bus to school every day; she
10married Earl Krall on July 3, 1949 and honeymooned at Niagara
11Falls; they built their first home in Downers Grove and their
12second home in Joliet, where Gloria resided for 57 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Gloria Liewellyn worked as a stenographer at
14Phoenix Manufacturing and enjoyed bowling on the company team;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, After the passing of her first husband, Gloria
17Liewellyn married Al Liewellyn and they enjoyed traveling,
18gardening, and crafting together; she took great pleasure in
19supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson in
20their art, music, and sports activities; she also enjoyed
21working as a Will County election judge for 44 years and as
22Treasurer of the Joliet Catholic Grade School and Joliet West

1High School bands; she devoted volunteer hours to St.
2Genevieve's Society, the OLA Auxiliary, the Catholic Women's
3League, and the Caterpillar Machinists Retiree's Club; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Gloria Liewellyn was preceded in death by her
5husbands, Edward Krall and Al Liewellyn; her son, Gary Krall;
6and her grandson, Devin Alexander; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Gloria Liewellyn is survived by her son, Philip
8(Mary) Krall; her daughter, Carol (Henry) Alexander; her
9grandson, Eric Krall; her granddaughter, Haley Alexander; and
10her great-grandson, Ethan Alexander; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Gloria Krall Liewellyn, and extend our sincere condolences to
14her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Gloria Liewellyn as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
