SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gloria Krall Liewellyn of Joliet, who passed away on May 17, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Gloria Liewellyn was born on June 23, 1924 to Joseph and Mary Annunzi (nee Bradeska); she graduated from St. Joseph Parish School in 1937 and St. Francis Academy in 1941; she was very proud of receiving a medal for 4 years of perfect attendance despite taking a bus to school every day; she married Earl Krall on July 3, 1949 and honeymooned at Niagara Falls; they built their first home in Downers Grove and their second home in Joliet, where Gloria resided for 57 years; and

WHEREAS, Gloria Liewellyn worked as a stenographer at Phoenix Manufacturing and enjoyed bowling on the company team; and

WHEREAS, After the passing of her first husband, Gloria Liewellyn married Al Liewellyn and they enjoyed traveling, gardening, and crafting together; she took great pleasure in supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson in their art, music, and sports activities; she also enjoyed working as a Will County election judge for 44 years and as Treasurer of the Joliet Catholic Grade School and Joliet West High School bands; she devoted volunteer hours to St. Genevieve's Society, the OLA Auxiliary, the Catholic Women's League, and the Caterpillar Machinists Retiree's Club; and

WHEREAS, Gloria Liewellyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Krall and Al Liewellyn; her son, Gary Krall; and her grandson, Devin Alexander; and

WHEREAS, Gloria Liewellyn is survived by her son, Philip (Mary) Krall; her daughter, Carol (Henry) Alexander; her grandson, Eric Krall; her granddaughter, Haley Alexander; and her great-grandson, Ethan Alexander; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gloria Krall Liewellyn, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gloria Liewellyn as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
