SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dennis M. Burrs of Woodstock, who passed away on June 5, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs was born in Chicago on March 2, 1945 to Lawrence and Bernice (nee Shaw) Burrs; he grew up in Dixon and joined the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Oriskany; he married Diane Rintoul on June 29, 1968 in Dixon; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs worked for Lake Shore Distributors; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs enjoyed attending conventions with other veterans; he was a member of the Woodstock Veterans of Foreign Wars for over 15 years; he enjoyed trains, playing cards, and visiting with friends; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Dennis Burrs is survived by his wife, Diane, and his sister, Laurel Burrs Erickson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dennis M. Burrs, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dennis Burrs as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
