SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lee B. Mehl of Peoria, who passed away on June 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Lee Mehl was born in Fargo, North Dakota; her parents were Murray A. and Constance Baldwin; and

WHEREAS, Lee Mehl graduated from the University of Wisconsin; she was the founder of the Peoria Association of Children with Learning Disabilities; she was also president of the Uplands Association and chair of the Residents Advisory Council at Proctor Place; and

WHEREAS, Lee Mehl was a tireless advocate for the residents of West Bluff and was a recipient of the Ted Bannon Neighborhood Leadership Award; and

WHEREAS, Lee Mehl was preceded in death by her husband, Prof. Arthur G. Mehl, and 3 children, William, Anne, and Stephen; and

WHEREAS, Lee Mehl is survived by 3 children, Kathryn Mehl, Richard Mehl, and David Mehl; a sister, Peg Hunger; and a brother, Steve Baldwin; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Lee B. Mehl; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lee Mehl as an expression of our sympathy.
