SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara Jean Hogan; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Hogan was born on March 12, 1936 to Earl and Eursel Steward; she had 5 brothers, Earl, Jr., Ronald, Melvin, Michael, and Samuel and a sister, Florece; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Hogan graduated from high school in August of 1954; she married John Willie Hogan on October 10, 1954; they were married for over 41 years and had 12 children, Denise, John Lamar (deceased), Daryl, Dwayne, Theresa, Christopher, Antonio, Calvin (deceased), Marlon, Lorene, Chandra. and Nicole; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Hogan was a member of the Indiana Avenue Pentecostal Church of God; she was a member of the church missionary choir and was known and loved for her hospitality; she served and welcomed many friends and church members in her home; and

WHEREAS, Barbara is survived by her children Denise, Daryl, Dwayne (Dianna), Theresa, Antonio (Pauline), Christopher (Rosslyn), Lorene, Marlon, Chandra (Mark), Nicole (Nathan); and many other loved ones, including Dr. Mattie Webb, Alicia (Clifton) Ballard, Valerie (Herrin) Jackson, Valerie (Andre) Yarbrough, Ronald (Takeko) Steward, Michael (Jacqueline) Steward, Shericee and Solomon Meeks, and Jeron Roberts; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in her community and in her church; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Barbara Jean Hogan, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara Hogan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
