SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Helen A. Lakota of Joliet, who passed
4away on December 16, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Helen Lakota was born in Joliet on November 12,
61917 to Joseph and Anna Trizna; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Helen Lakota supported her husband in his business
8at Lakota Jewelers for 35 years; she was also a Deputy for the
9Will County Sheriff's Department in the 1960s; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Helen Lakota enjoyed sewing, knitting,
11crocheting, and crafts; she was a member of the choir, the
12Altar and Rosary Society, Medical Mission, Joanites, and the
13Mothers Club at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church; she was also
14a member of the Seniors Club of Joliet, an auxiliary at the
15Northwest Recreation Club, and an auxiliary at Our Lady of
16Angels Retirement Home; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Helen Lakota was preceded in death by her husband,
18Louis J. Lakota; her parents; her daughter, Mary; her brothers,
19Joseph (Cecilia) Trizna, Anton (Josephine) Trizna, Rudolph
20(Helen)(Rose) Trizna, and Raymond Trizna; her granddaughter,
21Cheryl Thomas; and her great-granddaughter, Hannah Ludwick;

2    WHEREAS, Helen Lakota is survived by her 4 children, Lou
3(Mary Fran), Jerry (Marge), Barb (Mike) Ludwick, and Karen
4(Paul) McDermott; her 16 grandchildren, Lou (Kris) Lakota,
5Maureen (the late Bill) Krok, Mike Lakota, Tony (Jody) Lakota,
6Tim Lakota, Kris (Clark) Garland, Greg (Bobbi) Lakota, Bill
7(Lori) Lakota, Karole (Erik) Treese, Laurie (Edward) Gudas,
8Christopher (Tammy) Ludwick, Brian Ludwick, Daniel Ludwick,
9Will (Johanna) Thomas, Jim McDermott, and Colleen McDermott;
10her 23 great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandchild; her
11sister-in-law, Dorothy (the late Raymond) Trizna; and numerous
12nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Helen A. Lakota, and extend our sincere condolences to her
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Helen Lakota as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
