SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George Dana Obermayer of McHenry, who passed away on May 7, 2015; and

WHEREAS, George Obermayer was born on April 7, 1955 in Chicago; his parents were Robert and Joan (nee Gruenler) Obermayer; he married Carrie E. Martenson on April 20, 1980 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Dundee; he was a resident of McHenry since 1995; and

WHEREAS, George Obermayer was the owner and operator of McHenry Muffler in Lakemoor for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, George Obermayer enjoyed spending time with his family, drag racing, and Chicago sports, especially the Chicago Bears; and

WHEREAS, George Obermayer was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, George Obermayer is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carrie; 2 children, Dirk (Erin Phillips) Obermayer and Kiersten (Kent Rexford) Obermayer; 2 grandchildren, Cage and Averly; his mother, Joan; a brother, Robin "Rob" (Roxanne) Obermayer; and a nephew, Nicholas; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of George Dana Obermayer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Obermayer as an expression of our sympathy.
