SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Garvin Boyle, formerly of Peoria, who passed away on May 7, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Michael Boyle was born in Lafayette, Indiana on January 31, 1947; he graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Psychology from Bradley University; and

WHEREAS, Michael Boyle was a Fellow of The University of Chicago and was working as a senior innovation officer and researcher for the University of Wisconsin-Madison while living in Lakewood Ranch, Florida; he was the former President and CEO of the Human Service Center of Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Michael Boyle was a founding member of the Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment and the National Addiction Technology Transfer Center's The Bridge; he worked as an adviser of policy for the United Nations and consulted with the federal government on national mental health and substance abuse governmental policy and procedure; he was a member of the North Peoria Rotary, as well as many professional psychology organizations; and

WHEREAS, Michael Boyle is survived by his wife, Laura Simpson-Boyle; his son, Sean Michael Boyle, Ph.D.; his daughter-in-law, Lynn Boyle, Ph.D.; and his half-siblings, Jennifer, Jackie, Jeff, and Kurt Boyle; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael Garvin Boyle, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Boyle as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
