SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ella Bernice Rowden, who passed away on March 1, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Ella Bernice Rowden was born on December 17, 1918 in Beardstown; her parents were John and Mae Doerr; she married Stanley P. Rowden in July of 1944; and

WHEREAS, Ella Bernice Rowden was a lifelong member of the Twelfth Street Presbyterian Church in Alton; and

WHEREAS, Ella Bernice Rowden was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, and a daughter, Barbara Sherwood; and

WHEREAS, Ella Bernice Rowden is survived by 2 daughters, Judith Kemlitz and Elizabeth (Stephen) Jankowski; 4 grandchildren, Melissa (David) Guion, Alison (Dr. Josh Feinberg) Kemlitz, Benjamin (Dr. Gwen) Jankowski, and Dr. Natasha Jankowski; 5 great-grandchildren, Holly Guion, Zachary and Zoe Feinberg, Nadia Jankowski, and Walker Jankowski-Chapman; her nieces and nephews; and 2 sisters-in-law; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Ella Bernice Rowden; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ella Bernice Rowden as an expression of our sympathy.
