SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Lloyd Hughes, who passed away on February 15, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hughes was born in Sanford, Florida on October 16, 1945; in 1952, he moved to Illinois where he spent the next 51 years living in and near Waukegan; he married Connie Aho on August 16, 1969; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hughes was a professional actor by trade, appearing in over 200 plays, 200 commercials, 200 industrial films, several feature films, and guest spots on several television series; he was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and Actors Equity; he served as a national officer of Equity and as a member of the Tony committee; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hughes spent the last 12 years in Lake Helen, Florida; he enjoyed softball, basketball, golf, wrestling, pool, music and spending time with his teammates; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hughes is survived by his son, Matthew; his brothers, David and Stephen, their wives, Marilyn and Mary, and their children, Robin, Cindy, Randy, Hayden, Melanie, and Cameron; his sister, Patricia; and his great-nephew, Owen Hughes; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael Lloyd Hughes, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Hughes as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
