SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert W. Carnahan, who passed away on March 11, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Robert Carnahan was born on May 9, 1929 in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Robert Carnahan served his country as a member of the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Robert Carnahan was the former owner of Carnahan's Market in Waukegan; he was also a Master Meat Cutter; and

WHEREAS, Robert Carnahan attended the Village Church of Gurnee and was a member of Waukegan Yacht Club and the Waukegan Power Squadron; and

WHEREAS, Robert Carnahan is survived by his wife, Janet S. Carnahan; his daughters, Barbara C. (Thomas) White and Sandy L. (John) Slota; 3 grandchildren, Stephen and Ashley White and Hannah Slota; a sister, Gayle Powers; a brother-in-law, Thomas Mellen; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert W. Carnahan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Carnahan as an expression of our sympathy.
