SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John P. "Jack" Weber of McHenry, who passed away on December 23, 2014; and

WHEREAS, John Weber was born in Waukegan on September 17, 1933 to Robert L. and Mary (nee Walsh) Weber; he was raised in McHenry and educated at St. Mary's and Landmark schools before graduating from McHenry High School; while attending high school, he worked for a local veterinarian, and after graduating, he initially attended college in southern Illinois with the intention of becoming a vet; on February 6, 1956, he married Lora Jean Hay at the Cook County Courthouse in Chicago, and, on March 19, 1956, at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago; he served in the United States Army from October of 1956 to September of 1958; and

WHEREAS, After training to become an electrician with IBEW Local 117, John Weber worked as an electrician for his entire career; he was employed by Lee & Ray Electric and later Carey Electric, both in McHenry; he retired from Carey Electric at the age of 62; and

WHEREAS, John Weber was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Wonder Lake and was the first photographer for the Wonder Lake Fire Department; he was also a member of IBEW Local 117; he enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, the outdoors, bird watching, and his dogs; and

WHEREAS, John Weber was preceded in death by a brother, Robert; and

WHEREAS, John Weber is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean; his 6 children, Arthur (Barbara) Weber, Julie (John) Rice, Cheri (Sam) Zito, Mary (Cliff) Otto, Michael (Beth) Weber, and Bobby (Berta) Weber; his 20 grandchildren, Jill, Marsha, Katie, Jackie, John John, Janelle, Jordanne, Peter, Amanda, Stephanie, Ashlea', Tom, Austin, Tanner, Chris, Sarah, Alicia, Katherine, Monica, and Josh; his 11 great-grandchildren, Dominic, Jackson, Mason, Landon, Makenzie, Jameson, Blake, Madilynn, Ambrea, Violet, and Ryland; his sister, Ann (the late Ron) Vacula; and his sister-in-law, Sue Weber; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John P. "Jack" Weber, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Weber as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
