SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara Jane Sikich of Zion, who passed away on April 11, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Sikich was born on May 28, 1951 in Waukegan and was a lifetime resident of the area; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Sikich served as a preschool teacher at Paul K. Kennedy Child Care Center for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Sikich was a lifetime member of the Croatian Cultural Center and Croatian Lodge 848; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Sikich was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Mary Sikich, and her significant other, Sam Taylor; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Sikich is survived by her siblings, Patricia Sikich, Millie (Chris) Biedron, Pete (Julie) Sikich, Beverly (Dan) Turkowski, and Ed (Deb) Sikich; 2 stepdaughters, Kristin (Mark) Heiny and Stacey Wright; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Barbara Jane Sikich; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara Sikich as an expression of our sympathy.
