SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jay W. "Juggler" Nordberg of Park City, who passed away on December 1, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Jay Nordberg was born in Evanston on April 1, 1926; he graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1944; he served during World War II from 1944 to 1946 with the Army 28th Calvary Reconnaissance Squadron; he graduated from Western Illinois University in 1951; and

WHEREAS, Jay Nordberg worked as an accountant at Johnson Motors (OMC) for 30 years, retiring in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Jay Nordberg was a member of American Legion Post 771 in Gurnee; he was also a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 667 in Zion and of La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux, Local 604; and

WHEREAS, Jay Nordberg was preceded in death by his daughter, Julia Smith; his mother, Lois Cheshire; his brother and sister-in-law, Hal and Edna Nordberg; and his sister, Elizabeth Hoye; and

WHEREAS, Jay Nordberg is survived by his 3 daughters, Laura Lusiak, Janice (Bernard) Lord, and Pamela (Nicholas) Siedlecki; his 10 grandchildren, Jessica (Chad), Marek (Heidi), Erin, Miles, Rebecca (Matt), Katrina, Stacy, Kenny, Heather, and Kaitlin; his 7 great-grandchildren, Emma-Marie, Ariel, Averie, Evan, Reese, Anniston, and Aiden; his sister, Loraine (Howie) Herrin; several nieces and nephews; and many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jay W. "Juggler" Nordberg, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jay Nordberg as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
