SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Winn C. Davidson of Palatine, who passed away on November 22, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Winn Davidson was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 8, 1938 to Harry S. and Myrtle (nee Johnson) Davidson; he graduated from McHenry High School in 1956 and went on to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northwestern University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business; he lettered in wrestling at both universities; in 1967, while working at the First National Bank of Chicago, he graduated from John Marshall Law School; he married Linda Leshuk on December 26, 1979 in Woodstock; and

WHEREAS, Winn Davidson practiced law in Palatine; in 1975, he founded the Bank of Palatine, serving as President and Chairman of the Board for 39 years; and

WHEREAS, Winn Davidson served the community in many ways; he was the President of the Palatine Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Palatine Police Pension Board, a member of the Palatine Jaycees, and an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Palatine; he was recognized by John Marshall Law School with a Distinguished Service Award in 1987; throughout his career, he was also a successful real estate developer, managing partnerships in Illinois and Arizona; and

WHEREAS, Winn Davidson was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Barbara "Bambi" (nee Marticke) Davidson; and

WHEREAS, Winn Davidson is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Laurie Ann (Jeffrey) Schmid, Craig W. (Kimie) Davidson, Linda S. (Steven) Isberg, Clark C. Davidson, Lesley C. (Eric) Malmstrom, and Lisa M. Davidson; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Dale, Allison, Diane, John, Kyle, Katrina, Layton, and Lauren; his great-grandson, Adrian; his brother, Lyle (Irene) Davidson; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Winn C. Davidson, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Winn Davidson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
