SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Daniel A. Pauley of McHenry, who passed away on November 25, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Pauley was born in Chicago on March 23, 1926 to Adam and Pauline (nee Knapik) Pauley; he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in July of 1944, serving as a mortar crewman in the Pacific and participating in action at Okinawa and with the occupation of Japan; he married Mary K. Whittenberg on March 18, 1945 in Chicago and was discharged from the Marine Corps in July of 1946; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Pauley was a resident of McHenry since 1979; he was employed as a draftsman for his entire career, working at several companies during his lifetime; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Pauley had an interest in guns and enjoyed going to the shooting range; he also liked to take long drives; and

WHEREAS, Daniel Pauley is survived by his wife, Mary; his 3 children, Cynthia (the late David) Myers, Alan (Sue) Pauley, and Kimberly Pauley; his 7 grandchildren; and his 8 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Daniel A. Pauley, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Daniel Pauley as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
