SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dzemal Mulasmajic, who passed away on January 7, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Dzemal Mulasmajic was born in Novi Seher, Bosnia (then Yugoslavia) on September 1, 1939 to Ibrahim and Rukija (nee Kurajlic) Mulasmajic; he immigrated to the United States in 1962; he met and married Doris Cripe in 1964; and

WHEREAS, Dzemal Mulasmajic and his wife lived in Chicago for 2 years and then moved to Palatine for 8 years; he was a mechanical engineer with Sargent & Lundy Engineering and was active in the Lions Club and the Republican Party; he became interested in real estate and obtained his license; in 1973, he moved his family to Marengo and started his own Homeland Real Estate Corp. and continued in real estate and development for the next 36 years; in Marengo, he was very active in the Masonic Lodge and the United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, Dzemal Mulasmajic loved his family, his pets and animals in general, and helping people; he and his family brought many other families to the United States during and after the 1992 war in Bosnia and helped them get started in order to have a better life; and

WHEREAS, Dzemal Mulasmajic was preceded in death by his parents; his 2 brothers; a niece and a nephew; a sister-in-law; and a brother-in-law; and

WHEREAS, Dzemal Mulasmajic is survived by his wife, Doris; his daughters, Lura (Joseph) Asby, Sara Mulasmajic, and Tanja Jovancevic; his 2 grandchildren, Rebecca and Joshua Asby; his brother, Kerim Mulasmajic; his 3 sisters-in-law; and his 9 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dzemal Mulasmajic, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, his friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dzemal Mulasmajic as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
