SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Juanita L. Braid of McHenry, who passed away on February 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Braid was born in Chicago on June 5, 1923 to Elmer Nathen and Lena (nee Reynolds) Lain; she married Robert T. Braid on September 22, 1945 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Braid worked as an administrative assistant for United Airlines for over 20 years and was a member of the Retired United Airlines Employees; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Braid enjoyed horseback riding, singing, reading the newspaper every day, and spending time with her family; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Braid was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her brothers, Paul and Ralph Lain; and her sister, Lucile Smith; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Braid is survived by her children, Sandra Braid, Debra (David) Mistereck, and Candy (Vince) Lewandowski; her grandchildren, Tom (Deborah) Hernandez, Douglas and Dustin Hernandez, and Jessica and Jim Lewandowski; and her great-grandchild, Zoe Maia Hernandez; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Juanita L. Braid, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Juanita Braid as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
