SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Walter "Butch" Barry of Harvard, who passed away on February 18, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Walter Barry was born in Woodstock on February 23, 1950 to Charles and Elizabeth (nee Tracy) Barry; he married Doris Nell on October 21, 1967 in Woodstock; and

WHEREAS, Walter Barry was a member of the Saddlebag Saloon; he enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, and music; most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family and very dear friends; and

WHEREAS, Walter Barry was proud of his Native American heritage; he was a descendant of the Mesquakie Tribe and fascinated by Native American culture and lore; and

WHEREAS, Walter Barry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bryan Barry; and his 2 sisters, Debbie Boliver and Brenda Lumby; and

WHEREAS, Walter Barry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Doris; his 3 daughters, Robin (Richard) Knapik, Lynette (Timothy) Ashmore, and Dawn VanHoorn; his 4 grandchildren, Mike (Kelly) Knapik, Brittany Knapik, Tayler Barry, and Travis Price; his great-grandson, Konner Knapik; his brother, Joseph Barry; his 6 sisters, Bonnie Moyer, Patti Bressers, Pam Walters, Cindy Swanson, Ella Barry, and Tina Barry; as well as many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Walter "Butch" Barry, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Walter Barry as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
