SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy Jane Bellm of Carlinville, who passed away on December 19, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Bellm was born in Virden to Leonard and Sadie (Broderick) Moore on November 2, 1925; she graduated from Virden High School and married John J. Bellm in Carlinville on September 7, 1957; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Bellm worked at the Illinois State Capitol for 20 years; she was active in politics and met John F. Kennedy during his campaign stop in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Bellm was very devoted to her family; she was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Bellm was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gary Wayne Wrightsman; two sisters; and two brothers; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Bellm is survived by her husband, John; her son, Bradley (Mary Beth) Bellm; her daughter, Beth Ann (Kelly) Schmidt; and her grandchildren, Conner and Katie Schmidt, Jessica Bellm, and Maddison and Alicia Bellm; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dorothy Jane Bellm, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy Bellm as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
