SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Cory Lushon "CJ" Foster Jr., who passed
4away on December 13, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Cory Foster Jr. was born in Oak Park to Cory Sr.
6and Shindana Foster on September 28, 1996; he attended Lincoln
7Elementary School and graduated from the Living Word Christian
8Center; he attended St. Joseph High School and graduated from
9Proviso West High School; he was baptized on June 22, 2003 at
10St. Michael Missionary Baptist Church, where he served in the
11Youth Choir and Audio and Video Ministry; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Cory Foster Jr. obtained his worker permit at the
13age of 15; his first job was for the Village of Bellwood over
14several summers; he later went on to work at AAA Rental, Blaze
15Pizza, Dollar Tree, Gate Gourmet, Dicks Sporting Goods, and
16Walmart; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Cory Foster Jr. was affectionately known as
18"Bump"; he enjoyed singing, playing the piano and drums, and
19traveling across the country and around the world; he was
20always helping others in any way he could; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Cory Foster Jr. is survived by his parents,

1Illinois State Representative Cory Sr. and Shindana Foster; his
2sister, Jayla Foster; his grandmother, Sabrina (Donald) Foster
3Greer; his grandfather, McKenzie Wallace; his
4great-grandmothers, Fannie Scott, Alma Boykin, and Lilla Hall;
5his uncles, Lattrell (Aisha) Foster, Michael (Marjorie)
6Hammond, Jonathan Foster, and Rodriguez Boykin; his aunts,
7Saneshia Foster, Latara Hammond, Kimberly Wallace, and Sherray
8Hammond; his godparents, Angela Buchanan, and Gregory (Yara)
9Buchanan; his godbrothers and godsisters, Diontae, Aria,
10Divontae, Makayla, Brianna, Dante, and Jordan; several
11great-aunts and great-uncles; and a host of cousins, relatives
12and friends; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Cory Lushon Foster Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to
16his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Cory Foster Jr. as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
