SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Darrel L. Meininger, who passed away on December 7, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Darrel Meininger was born in Alton to Leroy and Kathryn (Yearian) Meininger on January 23, 1949; he served in the United States Navy and married Linda Schmidt in Bethalto on July 11, 1973; and

WHEREAS, Darrel Meininger was employed at Olin as a machinist for 30 years prior to his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Darrel Meininger was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto; and

WHEREAS, Darrel Meininger was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carolyn; and his niece, Julie; and

WHEREAS, Darrel Meininger is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Dawn Thornton; his son, Jason Meininger; his grandchildren, Caitlyn and Rylee Thornton; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Jan Meininger, and Jerry and Dolly Meininger; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Darrel L. Meininger, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved Darrel L. Meininger; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Darrel Meininger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
