SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth Ray Emery of Carlinville, who passed away on December 4, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Emery was born in Carlinville to Orville Jacob and Imogene (Eichen) Emery on August 12, 1950; he graduated from Carlinville Community High School in 1968 and Blackburn College in 1975; he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and married Linda Miller in Freeburg on June 23, 1978; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Emery worked at Burke Pharmacy and was a warehouse coordinator for Monterey Coal and Exxon Mobil; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Emery was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church; he enjoyed gardening, antiquing, and hunting for arrowheads; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Emery was preceded in death by his father, Orville Emery, and his brother, Charles Emery; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Emery is survived by his wife, Linda; his son, Todd (Beth) Emery; his daughters, Gayle (Adam) Staggemeyer, and Dawn (Mark) Peterson; his mother, Imogene Emery; his brothers, Bob (Sharlyne) Emery, David Emery, and Fred (Vera) Emery; his sister, Frances Emery; his grandchildren, Garen, Madison, Ryan, Drake, Bram, and Thane; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth Ray Emery, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Emery as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
