SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John L. "Leo" Vogrin of Joliet, who
4passed away on November 28, 2016 at the age of 84; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Vogrin was born in Joliet to John and Ellen
6(Rogers) Vogrin, where he remained a lifelong resident; he was
7a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the
8Korean War; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Vogrin was a retired carpenter; he was a
10member of Carpenters Union Local #174, St. Paul the Apostle
11Catholic Church, and VFW Cantigny Post #367; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Vogrin enjoyed gardening and spending time
13with the friends he made at Inwood Athletic Club; his passion
14was his grandchildren; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John Vogrin was preceded in death by his parents
16and his three sisters, Edna Mae Knott, Joann Williams, and
17Barbara Jean Vogrin; and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Vogrin is survived by his wife, Mary
19(Wertzler) Vogrin; his five children, Cathleen (Vago)
20Galounis, John B. (Jeanette) Vogrin, Patricia Ann (Bob)

1Edwards, Lori (Ken) Krumreich, and Jim (Ann) Vogrin; his 16
2grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and
3nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
6family and friends, mourn the passing of John L. "Leo" Vogrin,
7and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and
8all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of John Vogrin as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
