SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth Beasley of South Roxana, who passed away on October 16, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Beasley was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Sam and Norma Jean (Harbin) McClure on November 19, 1946; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Beasley worked as a concrete finisher out of Cement and Masons Local #90 for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Beasley was currently serving his fourth term in office as Mayor for the Village of South Roxana; prior to his election, he served the Village as Building and Zoning Inspector and was a trustee for the South Roxana Fire Protection District; he also served as a reserve police officer for the Village, and co-owned "Debbie's Market"; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Beasley was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kimberly McClure; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Beasley is survived by his wife of 35 years, Deborah (Blankenship); his sons, Brit Beasley, Chris (Jenny) Williams, Kevin Beasley, David (Jen) Davis, and Donnie (Tiffany) Davis; his daughter, Renee Reader; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth Beasley, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Beasley as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
