SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Madelynn Nicole "Maddy" McInerney of Libertyville, who passed away on November 25, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Madelynn McInerney was born to F. Dave and Leigh Anne (Dietrich) McInerney on February 26, 1999; she was a junior at Libertyville High School, where she was active with choir and involved in cheerleading and with the bowling team; and

WHEREAS, Madelynn McInerney participated in various cancer organization fundraisers; she worked with the St. Balderick's Foundation for Childhood Cancer in sixth and eighth grade and was a spokesperson for the local fundraiser in 2016; she was the Courage winner for Voices Against Brain Cancer in 2015 and honored for her bravery in 2016 at the inaugural BrainUp Chicago 5K Run/Walk in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Madelynn McInerney was preceded in death by her grandfather, Poppy Frank McInerney, and her aunt, Nicole Besch; and

WHEREAS, Madelynn McInerney is survived by her parents; her sister, Anya; her brothers, Jordan and John McInerney; her brother, Zachary Dietrich; her grandparents, Lee and Willa Dietrich; her grandmother and godmother, Rebecca Spring, and Anya (Chris) Sutton; her uncle, Phil Dietrich; and her cousins, Chloe and Olivia Sutton; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Madelynn Nicole "Maddy" McInerney, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Madelynn McInerney as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
