SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leo John Latz, Jr. of Elmhurst, who
4passed away on March 6, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr. graduated from St. Ambrose
6University in 1957 and was involved for many years as a leader
7of the Chicago St. Ambrose Alumni Club; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr. was a former President of the
9Fenwick High School Fathers' Club, the Alexian Brothers
10Hospital Foundation, and the Chicago Chapters of the American
11Institute of Banking and Society of Personnel Administration;
12he was a past Chairman of the Josephinum High School Advisory
13Board; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr. was a 29-year resident of River
15Forest and served on the River Forest Service Club with many
16friends and neighbors; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr. was the beloved husband for 57 years
18of Ann (nee Dolphin); the devoted and dedicated father of Leo,
19III, Ann (Paul) Dunbar, Peter (Michele, nee Ventimilla),
20Michael (Gloria, nee Vega), and Timothy (Elaine, nee Perry);
21the cherished grandfather of Catherine Mary, Leo, IV, Patrick,

1Janeen, and Bridget, Marty, Kelley, Maureen and Conor Dunbar,
2Maria, Catherine Ann (Sam Froelich), P.J., and Eva, Ryan,
3George, Maggie, Kevin, Tom, and Mary; the proud son of the late
4Leo J. Latz, M.D. and Margaret (nee Fitzgerald); the dear
5brother of Margaret and the late John Boyle; the loving
6brother-in-law of the late Patrick Dolphin (Sally, nee Keane),
7Maureen (the late John M.D.) Dwyer, Terry (the late Gil) Gavin,
8Margie (Jay) Parsons, Frank Dolphin, Olive (Frank) Lucido,
9Barbara (John) Bergquist, and Kathleen (Link) Smith; the proud
10uncle of many nieces and nephews; and the cherished friend to
11the living and departed members of the Pot Luck Dinner Club
12started 50 years ago and to all of his friends from his days
13growing up on the North Side of Chicago; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Leo John Latz, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Leo Latz, Jr. as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
