SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Vivian Marie Johnson-Avery of Springfield, who passed away on November 13, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Vivian Johnson-Avery was born in 1950; and

WHEREAS, Vivian Johnson-Avery was a member of St. John AME Church in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Vivian Johnson-Avery is survived by her husband, David Avery; her daughter, Shalanda (Michael) Gaines; her stepdaughters, Jeanne Avery, and Danesha (Carl) Little; her grandchildren, Amir Upshaw, Mychael Gaines, Trinitee Rouse, Jordan Little, and Ariana Little; her sisters, Dorothy (Nathaniel) Gibson, Vickie Johnson, and Charlotte Johnson; her brothers, James (Ruby) Johnson, Charles (Joyce) Johnson, and Robert Johnson; and countless family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Vivian Marie Johnson-Avery, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vivian Johnson-Avery as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
