SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond H. Beyer of Lindenhurst, who passed away on November 2, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Beyer was born on August 16, 1922 in Welch, Minnesota; he lived in North Chicago for most of his adult life; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Beyer served as a naval armed guard in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Beyer retired in 1987 after 23 years of service at North Chicago Community High School, beginning as a custodian and working his way up to becoming the Facilities and Energy Manager; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Beyer was a member of Holy Family Church, Queen of Peace Church, and St. Mary of the Annunciation; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Beyer was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Jerome and Joseph; his granddaughter, Jennifer; three brothers; and four sisters; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Beyer is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Elizabeth "Betty"; his children, John (Peg) Beyer, Jim (Charlotte) Beyer, Linda Belski, Mike (Tricia) Beyer, Judy Beyer, and Mary Beth (Lovat) Veitch; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Henry and David Beyer; and his sisters, Margaret Thompson and Esther Wilson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Raymond H. Beyer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Raymond Beyer as an expression of our sympathy.
