SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Honegger of Peoria, who passed away on October 30, 2016; and

WHEREAS, John Honegger was born in Forrest to Walter and Elizabeth (Moser) Honegger on July 15, 1935; he married Wilma Maurer on August 14, 1954; and

WHEREAS, John Honegger worked in sales his entire life, including at Fruehauf Trailer and Jim Hawk Truck Trailers; and

WHEREAS, John Honegger enjoyed fishing, playing bridge, mentoring his grandchildren, and visiting with the residents and staff at the Apostolic Christian Skylines Home; he was a member of the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church and served in numerous capacities, including as Sunday School Superintendent and Church Trustee; and

WHEREAS, John Honegger is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wilma; his children, Jill (Bob) Gangloff, Michael (Diane) Honegger, and Gina (Gary) Kempf; his grandchildren, Jenny (Billy) Schick, Luke (Amanda) Gangloff, Andrew (Rachel) Honegger, Adam (Kimberly) Gangloff, Tyler (Erika) Kempf, Ryan (Keighley) Kempf, Paige (Chase) Reatherford, Dane Kempf, and Shannon Kempf (Caleb Brachbill); his great-grandchildren, Willow, Ella, Tate, Camden, Irelyn, Cole, Crew, Abigail, and Lennox; his sister, Donna Leman; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Honegger, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Honegger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
