SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Velma M. Ambrose of Carlinville, who
4passed away on November 3, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was born in West Memphis, Arkansas
6to Homer and Jessie Paris Harding on January 1, 1920; she
7graduated from Scottville High School in 1938 and married Coy
8Wayne Ambrose in Bowling Green, Missouri on February 17, 1943;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose helped prepare taxes in the
11Scottville area for many years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was a longtime 4-H leader and taught
13many area youngsters how to sew; she enjoyed painting, sewing,
14and spending time with her family; she was active in the Home
15Extension Project for several years; she was a member of the
16Scottville Christian Church; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was preceded in death by her
18husband, Coy; her parents; her sister, Elden Patterson; and two
19brothers; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose is survived by her daughter, Janet

1(George) Dixon; her sons, David (Patty) Ambrose, and Terry
2(Lana) Ambrose; her grandchildren, Todd and Matt Dixon, Wade
3and Ryan Ambrose, and Lisa Templeton; 11 great-grandchildren;
4five great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Carroll
5Woolfolk; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Velma M. Ambrose, and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Velma Ambrose as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
