SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Grazier of Wadsworth, who passed away on October 21, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was born on December 2, 1930 in Millheim, Pennsylvania; his parents were Russell P. Grazier and Bertha Grazier; he married Mary Ann Tiernan on September 8, 1951 in Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Robert Grazier attended Miles Township schools, where he graduated in May of 1948; after graduation, he joined the United States Air Force; after completing basic training in Texas, he was assigned to Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, where he was assigned as an aircraft engine mechanic; he also served at Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts and Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii; and

WHEREAS, After his military service, Robert Grazier and his wife moved back to Illinois; after working at Commonwealth Edison for a short time, he briefly owned and operated a trucking business; he was later employed by Dan Lodesky Trucking as a diesel mechanic for many years until his retirement in March of 1993; and

WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was a member of Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church, the Lake County Radio Control Club, and Teamsters Local 301; and

WHEREAS, Robert Grazier enjoyed building and customizing tanks and trailers; he built a motor home and many other things related to the trucking industry; he also enjoyed building his own flower boxes and a garden, as well as driving his Kubota tractors; and

WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was preceded in death by his sons, Barry J. Grazier and James R. Grazier; his parents; his brother, Don Grazier; his son-in-law, Jim Grazier; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frank and Clara Tiernan; and

WHEREAS, Robert Grazier is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Grazier; his children, Kenneth (Diane) Grazier, Thomas (Susan) Grazier, and Dianne (Gerald) Richardson; his daughter-in-law, Heather Grazier; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura) Grazier, Jennifer (Dan) Resch, Robert J. (Sharon) Grazier, Christopher (Stephanie) Grazier, Rebecca Grazier, Michelle (Justin) Dosser, Amanda (Justin) Thompson, Matthew Richardson, Adam Grazier, Alec Grazier, and Danielle Grazier; his great-grandchildren, Isaac Resch, Abigail Grazier, Audrey Grazier, and Alison Grazier; his brothers, David (Connie) Grazier and Edwin (Rhena) Grazier; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert L. "Bob" Grazier; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Grazier as an expression of our sympathy.
