SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Grazier of Wadsworth, who
4passed away on October 21, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was born on December 2, 1930 in
6Millheim, Pennsylvania; his parents were Russell P. Grazier and
7Bertha Grazier; he married Mary Ann Tiernan on September 8,
81951 in Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Grazier attended Miles Township schools,
10where he graduated in May of 1948; after graduation, he joined
11the United States Air Force; after completing basic training in
12Texas, he was assigned to Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul,
13where he was assigned as an aircraft engine mechanic; he also
14served at Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts and Hickam
15Air Force Base in Hawaii; and
 
16    WHEREAS, After his military service, Robert Grazier and his
17wife moved back to Illinois; after working at Commonwealth
18Edison for a short time, he briefly owned and operated a
19trucking business; he was later employed by Dan Lodesky
20Trucking as a diesel mechanic for many years until his
21retirement in March of 1993; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was a member of Our Lady of
2Humility Catholic Church, the Lake County Radio Control Club,
3and Teamsters Local 301; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Robert Grazier enjoyed building and customizing
5tanks and trailers; he built a motor home and many other things
6related to the trucking industry; he also enjoyed building his
7own flower boxes and a garden, as well as driving his Kubota
8tractors; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was preceded in death by his sons,
10Barry J. Grazier and James R. Grazier; his parents; his
11brother, Don Grazier; his son-in-law, Jim Grazier; and his
12mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frank and Clara Tiernan; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Grazier is survived by his loving wife of
1465 years, Mary Ann Grazier; his children, Kenneth (Diane)
15Grazier, Thomas (Susan) Grazier, and Dianne (Gerald)
16Richardson; his daughter-in-law, Heather Grazier; his
17grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura) Grazier, Jennifer (Dan) Resch,
18Robert J. (Sharon) Grazier, Christopher (Stephanie) Grazier,
19Rebecca Grazier, Michelle (Justin) Dosser, Amanda (Justin)
20Thompson, Matthew Richardson, Adam Grazier, Alec Grazier, and
21Danielle Grazier; his great-grandchildren, Isaac Resch,
22Abigail Grazier, Audrey Grazier, and Alison Grazier; his
23brothers, David (Connie) Grazier and Edwin (Rhena) Grazier; and

1many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
4family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert L. "Bob"
5Grazier; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Robert Grazier as an expression of
8our sympathy.
