SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard J. Galla, who passed away on March 12, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Richard Galla was born and raised in the Chicagoland area, where he met and married the love of his life, Annette Panek; and

WHEREAS, Richard Galla served his country as a member of the National Guard; and

WHEREAS, Richard Galla was the founder of the R.J. Galla Company, Inc. Insurance Agency in Grayslake, which has proudly served its clients for 45 years; his expertise was highly regarded in the insurance industry; and

WHEREAS, Richard Galla was a strong proponent for and dedicated his professional life to supporting Illinois community colleges and commercial businesses; and

WHEREAS, Richard Galla was an avid golfer and a musician who had a deep affection for jazz; and

WHEREAS, Richard Galla is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annette; 4 children, Richard G. "Ricky" (Kristen), Connie (Tony), David (Roberta), and Rachel (and her faithful companion, "Bully"); 4 grandchildren, Jessica "Boo Boo", Joseph "Goey", Jillian "silly-Jilly", and Henry; 6 great-grandchildren, Alexa, Grace, Izzy, Josephine, Olivia, and Jaxen; a brother, Gerald; 2 brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Joey "The Big Guy"; and his many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard J. Galla; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Galla as an expression of our sympathy.
