SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Puzey, who passed away on August 20, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Mary Puzey was born on March 25, 1925 in Jamaica; her parents were George B. and Rosa Alice Hart Darr; she married Lloyd W. Puzey on November 27, 1944 in Watsonville, California; and

WHEREAS, Mary Puzey was an active member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Westville and the Rosary and Altar Society; she helped with funeral dinners and was active in the church's Labor Day festivities; she was also a member of the Jamaica School PTA; and

WHEREAS, Mary Puzey enjoyed hosting traditional Sunday dinners for her family; and

WHEREAS, Mary Puzey was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her son-in-law, Tom Zeigler; her brothers and their wives, Charles (Mary Elizabeth) Darr and Paul (Margaret) Darr; and her sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Ralph Diel; and

WHEREAS, Mary Puzey is survived by her sons, Harold W. (Janet) Puzey and Alan L. (Susan) Puzey; her daughters, Annette Zeigler, Carol J. (David) Harden, Elaine M. (Pat) O'Shaughnessy, and Lisa J. (Tim) Bueter; her brothers, Dane (Mary Lou) Darr and David (Evelyn) Darr; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Mary Puzey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Puzey as an expression of our sympathy.
