SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Earl H. Laube of Waukegan, who passed away on October 25, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Earl Laube was born in Villa Park on February 8, 1922 to Max and Adella Laube; he attended York Community High School and later earned his GED; he served in the United States Army during World War II and was part of the D-Day invasion of Omaha Beach; he married Angela Miholic on September 27, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Earl Laube worked in civil service and was manager of the bowling alleys at Great Lakes Naval Base; and

WHEREAS, Earl Laube was a lifelong member of Mother of God Church and later Queen of Peace Church; he also belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281 in Waukegan; he was an avid member of the Lake County Homing Pigeon Association; and

WHEREAS, Earl Laube was preceded in death by his wife, Angela; his parents; his 3 sisters, Phyllis Larson, Florence Ankley, and Adelle; and one brother, Norman Laube; and

WHEREAS, Earl Laube is survived by his son, Ken (Alena) Laube; his daughter, Diane (Mark) Newhouse; and his 6 grandchildren, Alex, Nathan, and Nina Laube, Leah Sailovich, and Alan and Joel Newhouse; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Earl H. Laube, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Earl Laube as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
