SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Ann Barrett of Lakewood, who passed away on July 25, 2016 at the age of 80; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Barrett worked as a secretary at the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Barrett enjoyed painting, golfing, complex puzzles, baking kolachkes cookies, and hosting many noteworthy parties with The BIG R; she also learned to fly a plane, learned calligraphy, and took lessons in handwriting analysis; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Barrett was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Barrett; her parents, Donald and Marie Behringer; and her brother, Donald (Ann) Behringer; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Barrett was the mother of Robert (Jenny), Linda, William (Lynda), Martin (Lisa), Michael, and Anthony; the cherished grandmother to Kyle (Meghan), Sara (Garth), Matthew, Bobby, Trevor, Josh, Michael, Jason, Rebecca (Randy), and Matthew (Kristin); and the great-grandmother of eight; she is also survived by her sisters, Kathleen (Harold Marthinsen) and Cornelia (Emil Schwarz); her sister-in-law, Ann Behringer; and many extended family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Mary Ann Barrett; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Ann Barrett as an expression of our sympathy.
