SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eugene H. Latz of Lindenhurst, who passed away on August 22, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Latz was born in Waukegan to Frank and Anna Latz on March 31, 1937; he was a member of the first graduating class of North Chicago High School in 1955; he earned his bachelor's degree and master's degree in education from Northern Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Latz worked as a teacher, administrator, and superintendent with Zion School District 6; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Latz enjoyed spending time camping, traveling, and completing projects around his home; he was a volunteer for Vista West Hospital in Lindenhurst; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Latz was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ronald and Clifford; and

WHEREAS, Eugene Latz is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cecile; his children, Denise (Greg) Guido, Keith Latz, and Kathy (Ron) Goforth; his grandsons, David and Kristopher Latz, Ben and Matthew Goforth, and Nicholas Guido; and his great-grandson, Logan Latz; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Eugene H. Latz, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eugene Latz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
