SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles L. Nack of Hampshire, who passed away on July 23, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Charles Nack was born to Leon and Ruth Nack on July 23, 1949; he graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Chicago and United States Air Force Basic Training and Aircraft Mechanic Technical School; during the Vietnam War, he served as an instructor with the U.S. Air Force in Japan and stateside; he married Elizabeth in 1976; and

WHEREAS, Following his military service, Charles Nack worked as a millwright for Local Union 1693, retiring after over 40 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Charles Nack was an avid fisherman, beekeeper, and woodworker; he enjoyed traveling throughout the United States; he had an adventurous spirit and sought out unique experiences, including staying in an ice house, dog sledding, and riding in hot air balloons and glider planes; and

WHEREAS, Charles Nack is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth; his son, Mark (Laura) Nack; his sister, Kathie Hertel; his brother-in-law, Fred (Sue) Solleder; his grandchildren, Tyler and Charli Nack; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa (Brian) Gilbertson, Brian (Melissa) Hertel, Fred Solleder Jr., Bill (Shea) Solleder, and Jennifer (Zack) Dryden; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles L. Nack, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Nack as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
