SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Loretta B. Zaker, who passed away on July 1, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Loretta Zaker was born on October 26, 1927 in North Chicago; her parents were John and Frances Koncan; she married Vince Zaker on April 24, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Loretta Zaker worked at many different jobs during her lifetime before retiring from the City of North Chicago after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Loretta Zaker was preceded in death by her husband, Vince; her parents; her daughter, Debra (Scott) Sleddens; her brother, John (Julia), Bill, and Leo Koncan; and her sisters, Sylvia (John) Zaugra and Phyllis (Joe) Foltz; and

WHEREAS, Loretta Zaker is survived by her daughters, Loretta (the late Chuck) Gesky, Bonnie (Dave) Brogan, and Roberta (Steve) McKay; her grandchildren, Phyllis Fortson, Sara Ames, C.J. Gesky, John Brogan, Meredith Schueneman, Kyle, April, and Jillian McKay, and Alex and Vincent Sleddens; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her brother, Tom (Lois) Koncan; and her sisters-in-law, Bea Koncan and Loraine Koncan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Loretta B. Zaker; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Loretta Zaker as an expression of our sympathy.
